Staphorst in around 1960
Annet Vissinga was born in Steenwijk in 1926. In 1952 she moved to Paris, where she started her career as a photographer. To begin with she mainly photographed modern art, but after the birth of her son began to focus more on the world of children. She went on to work for a number of renowned magazines, including Elle Deco, Marie-Claire Maison, Homes and Garden, Casa Mia and Country Living. Together with her husband Jean-Francis Held, she also produced news reports all around the globe.
During the 1960s and 1970s she worked on a number of photo reportages on the theme of life in the Netherlands. In around 1960 she captured Staphorst and Giethoorn on film. Under this theme we are presenting some of her black-and-white negatives of images from Staphorst.
